Semi Homemade Churros with Chocolate Dipping Sauce
Upon entry to any theme park the first thing my kids ask for is churros. The “semi” homemade part of this recipe is that I actually buy the churros. Although I have made churros before, the key is a good homemade chocolate dipping sauce. This sauce is so good you could dip a shoe in it and it would taste good. Ok, your next question…where do you buy the churros? Wait for it….. Costco, a dollar each. Reheat them in the oven and serve same day. Pile them up for your next Mexican themed dinner party, your secret is safe with me!
Chocolate Dipping Sauce
Ingredients:
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup sugar
1 (5 ounce) can (2/3) cup of evaporated milk
Let’s make it:
Melt chocolate chips and butter on low in a saucepan
Add cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla and stir to combine
Slowly stir in evaporated milk and stir on low until sugar dissolves
Serve over ice cream, with strawberries, marshmallows or anything else you might have!
