Birthday Cake Scones

Birthday Cake Scones:
Ingredients:
3 Cups All purpose flour
1/4 Cup Sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 Cup cold butter cut into cubes
1/2 C whole milk
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 Tablespoon clear vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
1/2 Cup rainbow sprinkles
Vanilla Glaze—recipe below
Vanilla Glaze
Mix 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1/2 teaspoon clear vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to make glaze.
Now Let’s Make It:
Preheat oven to 375
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
Using a pastry blender or two forks cut in butter until mixture is crumbly
Make a well in the center of flour and add milk, cream and extracts. Stir with a spoon and add sprinkles.
Turn dough onto a heavily floured surface and knead for 1 minute. Pat dough into a rectangle that about 1 inch thick and cut into triangles.
Transfer to a pan lined with parchment paper
Brush scones with cream then sprinkle tops with sugar and sprinkles
Bake until lightly golden around 20 minutes,
Drizzle with vanilla glaze
