Taco Tuesday- Flank Steak Tacos
Today was the first day back to school so what better way to end the long day than Taco Tuesday? Taco Tuesday is an easy family dinner that you can change weekly. We alternate the menu with chicken, shrimp, veggies, pork, and their favorite flank steak. Try this flank steak recipe and you will agree that you will never need another!
Ingredients:
1 Flank Steak
Salt, Pepper and Sugar 2t of each
4 T Butter
1T vegetable oil
Chives are optional
Heat oven to 225
Cut your flank steak in 4 sections so that when you sear it at the end it does not curl. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and sugar
Place the steak on a cooling rack on top of a sheet pan and put in the oven for around 30-40 min until the internal temp is 120. Take steak out of the oven.
Heat a black iron skillet on high and add 1T oil. When oil is hot cook steak on each side for 1 min turning over for 1 minute until you reach 4 minutes. (rotating makes it cook evenly) ** Don’t move steak after you turn it each time, this will make it nicely browned
Put steak back on rack and put 1T butter on each quarter, sprinkling chives is optional. Let rest for 10 minutes and cut in very thin slices against the grain.
Serve alone or in a taco!
