There is really nothing better than a hot biscuit. You may be surprised to know that you probably have all of the ingredients in your house to make amazing biscuits. Try this one tonight: 2 C all purpose flour, 2T baking powder, 1T sugar, 1t salt. Pour all of these in a bowl and add 5 T butter. Combine the butter with dry ingredients with a fork until combined. Add 1 C heavy cream. Pat out dough on a floured surface to make a rectangle, fold over again to make a 10x6 rectangle and let rest for 30 minutes. Cut into circles with a biscuit cutter or anything you have in a circle shape. Make sure not to twist the cutter. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
After visiting Flour Shop in NYC my kids could not stop talking about the amazing cake that gushed sprinkles at first cut. I was so excited when the Flour Shop cookbook came out. The recipe for their show stopping Sprinkle Cake is in the book. My kids were very impressed when I made the cake that closely resembled their fave.
